From IDW Publishing is Transformers #40 - out now!

Shattered! The Autobots have withdrawn to the Crystal City and the Decepticons are at their gates! But with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee finally reunited, will this be the Autobots’ last stand or their greatest hour?! Don’t miss the other side of the epic story too, in Transformers: War’s End too!

Author Brian Ruckley
Illustrated by Anna Malkova

This was a massive battle - something we haven't seen on this scale in this new rebooted series. The siege of Crystal City is on and the Autobots are fighting for time.

Mainly it is fighting to allow those of them to escape and regroup at a new location - and that action has its casualties.

The fighting is shown in a variety of ways. There are the close up aspects, the skies and the bombardments - with all the buildings coming down.

There is some brilliant character moments, including the time before the main attack to start, for a bit of religious(?)/history. The artwork here was excellent.

This was a great fight scene almost from the beginning, with some brilliant moments and classic Bumblebee and Optimus moments. The ending has a bang and builds us up nicely for the next issue.
