Review: Grimm Fairy Tales #57
From Zenescope Entertainment this week is the latest in this ongoing series, with the current story arc continuing. This is Grimm Fairy Tales #57.
Taking over after the death of her mother, Sela, Skye Mathers is the new Guardian of the Nexus. With the help of Shang, her mentor, and her friends at Arcane Acre, she is learning the extent of her new powers and trying to figure out her place in protecting the universe.
A new threat has risen, The Dark Princess, a tyrant that has broken free from a crumbling universe not
much different than ours. Along with her generals, The Swarm, she began her assault on the Nexus by expelling Skye, Shang, and their allies, scattering them across the realms.
Now they are desperately trying to find their way back to Arcane Acre to stand up to the Dark Princess before it's too late.

Finishing off this part of the story - in this universe and moving us on well.
Skye and the others are in some deep trouble, and those of us who know the characters know some aspects of how this story goes, but nevertheless, there are still some surprises.
Belle is an interesting character and her bittersweet story arc is well done. We also get the origin of someone we also know, and his appearance is something we should have expected.
I like the fight scenes in this issue - they are well shown and have plenty of action. Meanwhile, Shang has his own problems and this may cause some trouble in the long run here to - he's made a not-so-good choice here.
The issue finishes off interestingly, and I wonder where this one will lead to...
