From Zenescope Entertainment this week is the latest issue of Grimm Fairy Tales - Issue #54.

Taking over after the death of her mother, Sela, Skye Mathers is the new Guardian of the Nexus. With the help of Shang, her mentor, and her friends at Arcane Acre, she is learning the extent of her new powers and trying to figure out her place in protecting the universe. A new threat has risen, The Dark Princess, a tyrant that has broken free from a crumbling universe not
much different than ours. Along with her generals, The Swarm, she began her assault on the Nexus by expelling Skye, Shang and their allies, scattering them across the realms. Now they are desperately trying to find their way back to Arcane Acre to stand up to the Dark Princess before it’s too late.

This was a good issue. with some little teases on the magical side from Shang. His dealing with Wonderland is interesting and the battle with the Dodo was intense. He needs to stop keeping secrets though - there's a little of Professor X there.

Meanwhile, Skye has her own problems and the plan seems to be out of control. There are some interesting points here, and things do work out in one way or another. I did like the tease at the end and we may see some characters again soon.

There is some good art here, and some fun with the action. Some excellent scenes and motion of the battle - they work really well here and I like the finish to the battle as well.

The tease for the next issue is a change of pace and I like the style of it and what it promises.

This is a good run toward the way home!
